The Euro Summer School on exotic beams is supported by the European commission, human potential program, high-level scientific conferences (HPCF-2001-00101-01).

The Center of Physics is perched above Les Houches, a small Village in the French alps very close to Chamonix and the Mont Blanc. About three kilometers from the center of the village at an altitude of 1150 m the Physics School is located in a group of chalets surrounded by meadows and woods. Established in 1951, it developed into a well equipped and modern school facility including a small library, a 70 seat auditorium, internet connection and a very pleasant environment.

CERN, the European organization for nuclear research, is located close to Geneva (town, tourist office) at the Swiss French border. Established 1957, it is today the largest particle physics center in the world. Part of CERN's rich research program is the production and investigation of radioactive nuclei at the on-line isotope separator ISOLDE, driven by one of CERN's accelerators, the PS-booster.
